The Kingslodge Inn

We stayed three nights there, when we visited Durham last weekend. The room was nice, quiet and clean. The bathroom was quite big. The service is at the bar, which really gives the feeling of an inn. The girls were all very polite and helpful. The location is good. 10 min walk from the train station, with a forest in the back and about 15 min walk from the center of Durham. The breakfast was amazing. On first sight it looks small, but you can choose a dish from the breakfast menu, as well as from the things that are available around (croissant, cereals, jams and fruits). And of course you can have a very nice Yorkshire tea with milk. We also had dinner there twice and we tried some of the beers. All in all we ate very satisfied with the service and the quality. We definitely recommend the Kingslodge Inn if you are in Durham.

Had a grand stay for four nights. Comfortable room. Food was good with a choice both for breakfast and evening meal. My wife needs a dairy and gluten free meal and the chef has to be commended for making this possible each meal time by 'tinkering' with what was on offer. It has to be said though that the gf and dairy choice on the menu was sparse. The location of the hotel is spot on and whilst a short walk into Durham City the hotel has a country feel to it. Staff were great, friendly without exception and attentive.

Medium size car park also used by the pub goers. Quick check in at the bar, info given, my room was on the ground level, stairs to the floors. The bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi is good Shower hot and powerful Evening meal was ok Good choices and value I would probably stay again if in the area.

I enjoyed a cozy stay that was made even better by the fantastic service. The meals were good value, delicious and well-prepared, which made dining there a highlight of my trip. Despite our bedroom carpet being a bit marked and a glitch with my booking points, it didn’t overshadow my experience. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

I stayed here on multiple occasions, but not very recently. It's a charming old historic inn, with a really good restaurant, bar, and comfortable common spaces. The guest rooms were nice, perhaps a bit smallish owing to it being an historic building. The location is very attractive, near an old aquaduct, and away from the busyness of the main city, but very accessible by foot. I walk with a cane and am somewhat limited with mobility, and I found it an easy and very pleasant walk into town, just over the little bridge spanning the river. You don't need a car here to get around. Durham is a very walkable city, lots of points of interest to see. Highly recommend.

Great location. Free car park. Good price for bed & breakfast. Cosy room. Cheerful public area. Excellent food. Only downside was thin walls and unfortunately noisy people in the next room. Will certainly use this hotel again though.

5 min walk to trains, riverside and nightlife, 10 mins to Cathedral and Castle. A true cosy, comfortable Inn serving good food. Bedrooms awesome, breakfasts superb, decor great and xmas decs make it look special. The staff make anything possible and dont forget to download the app for freebies. We really enjoyed our break at Kingslodge and highly recommend it.

Nice place that is well located. Good bar with plenty of choice of drinks. Very friendly staff who made everyone welcome. Unfortunately the food was not great. Would definitely stay again but maybe not eat at the hotel.
